At the gym, she does some warm up exercises. Then, she swims for about two hours. At about 8.15 she takes a long hot shower. She roller-skates home because the swimming pool is far away from her house. At home, she gets dressed for school and has a big breakfast: she eats 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, some bacon, two slices of toast, and another glass of orange juice. At 9.00 she begins her classes.
Her name is Janet Gregory. She is fifteen years old. Why does she work so hard? She explains, “I want to be an Olympic swimmer on the next Olympic Games in London. I swim about five hours every day. It’s very hard work. I don’t have a lot of free time, but I enjoy it very much. I love swimming.”
After school, Janet trains for another three hours. She has dinner, does her homework and goes to bed. “At the end of the day I’m very tired. Sometimes I read a book to relax, or talk to my parents. I like playing with my baby brother. “
Janet doesn’t have swimming practice at the weekends. “At the weekends I like doing nothing. I like staying at home and sleeping but I don’t like making plans. I enjoy going to the movies, or I meeting my friends in the park. Sometimes I go skateboarding with my friend. We get on well and I like to talk to her.
