Wild Animals for 5th Graders

Цели урока:
1. Ознакомить учащихся с лексикой по теме "Дикие животные".
2. Развивать навыки аудирования и говорения.
3. Стимулировать интерес к изучению английского языка через игровые формы работы.

Оборудование:
- Презентация с изображениями диких животных.
- Карточки со словами и изображениями.
- Интерактивная доска или проектор.
- Мультимедийный проектор (если доступен).


1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)
- Greet the students and set a positive tone for the lesson.
- Ask students about their favorite wild animals. Engage with the question: "What is your favorite wild animal and why?"

2. Vocabulary Introduction (10 minutes)
- Show a presentation with images of various wild animals (lion, tiger, bear, giraffe, elephant, etc.).
- Introduce the names of the animals in English.
- Use flashcards to help students associate images with words. Encourage them to repeat the names aloud.

3. Game 1: “Animal Sounds” (5 minutes)
- Play animal sounds (e.g., roar of a lion, trumpet of an elephant).
- Students must identify the animal based on the sound. This can be done individually or in small groups.
- Discuss briefly which animals they heard and if they have seen or heard them before.

4. Game 2: “Guess the Animal” (10 minutes)
- Teacher shows a blurred image of an animal on the presentation.
- Students take turns asking yes/no questions to guess the animal (e.g., "Is it a big animal?" "Does it live in the jungle?").
- Students who guess correctly can choose a flashcard of that animal.

5. Game 3: “Animal Bingo” (10 minutes)
- Prepare Bingo cards with pictures of wild animals on them.
- Call out the names of the animals randomly. Students mark the corresponding image on their Bingo cards.
- The first student to complete a line calls out "Bingo!" and wins a small prize or recognition.

6. Game 4: “Where Do They Live?” (5 minutes)
- Organize a matching game where students match animals to their habitats (e.g., savannah, jungle, forest, etc.).
- Use a set of flashcards, one set with animals and another with different habitats.
- Students work in pairs to match the cards correctly.

7. Game 5: “Wild Animal Charades” (5 minutes)
- In this classic game, students will act out a wild animal without speaking, while their classmates try to guess which animal it is.
- Divide the class into small groups and let them take turns performing.

8. Reflection (5 minutes)
- Review the wild animal vocabulary learned during the lesson.
- Ask students: "What was your favorite animal today and why?"
- Discuss what they enjoyed most about the games.

9. Homework (optional)
- Assign students to write a short paragraph about their favorite wild animal, including one interesting fact they learned during the lesson.
